Acadia Denali Ultimate Awarded as one of 2026 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX

If you’re planning on spending plenty of time behind the wheel, a well-appointed interior and a natural user interface (or “UX”) are important qualities to consider while shopping for a new vehicle. Might we suggest considering the new 2026 GMC Acadia Denali, now available at Michael Hohl GMC? After all, the Acadia Denali Ultimate was recently named one of WardsAuto’s 10 Best” interior awards thanks in large part to its stellar interior design and attention to detail.
WardsAuto assessed 28 new or significantly updated vehicles before forming its top 10list, focusing on nominees with either completely new or substantially updated interiors. Judges evaluated how these vehicles performed in everyday driving, rating each on criteria such as aesthetics, infotainment, driver-assistance technologies, and overall value.
While the Ultimate shares some of its upscale interior design with other Acadia Denali models, it was the Ultimate’s exclusive upscale materials and attention to detailing that truly impressed the WardsAuto judges.
“Denali Ultimate features exclusive interior appointments that set it apart,” Therese Pinazzo explained, design Director of Buick and GMC interiors. Those features include upgraded heated and ventilated Woodland Mahogany full-leather massaging front seats with plaited contrast stitching, laser-etched Paldao wood trim, embossed topographical map accents on the seat backs and door trim, unique floor mats, and Denali Ultimate badging on the vehicle’s seat backs.

Acadia Denali Ultimate’s unique Woodland Mahogany interior color and interior detail caught the judges’ attention, as did the contrast stitching pattern and the rich, authentic look and feel of the open-pore Paldao wood accents.
“The rugged Western-lux theme is unmistakable and very much on brand, with its embossed leather and decorative stitching throughout,” said Dave Zoia, a WardsAuto 10 Best Interiors & UX judge.
Another attention-getter was the attractive pattern throughout the interior, which came directly from topographical maps of Denali (also known as Mt. McKinley), which is the highest mountain peak in North America.
WardsAuto’s award doesn’t just focus on elegant materials, but on how natural the user interface is to the driver. Acadia Denali’s15-inch vertically-oriented infotainment touchscreen makes it easy to look ahead at what is coming on a navigation map. The large knob placed just below the display is not only used to adjust the volume, but it can alsoquickly and naturally scroll through menus and long lists as they appear on the screen.

“We chose a purposeful mix of screen and tactile hardware to deliver a true command-center experience,” Pinazzo explained. “The large knob and seven mechanical switches provide precise, eyes-up control you can operate by feel, while their layout mirrors the on-screen UI for an intuitive, well-integrated interaction. It’s a premium, technical execution that reinforces connection, precision, and driver command.”
Although the 2026 Acadia Denali Ultimate represents the pinnacle of the Acadia portfolio, its $67,290 MSRP did not deter the judges.
“I was stunned by the price — in a good way,” noted Zoia. “I expected something stickered well above this one’s bottom line.”
A Denali Ultimate model simply must deliver a stunning interior, and WardsAuto’s award is proof the Acadia Denali Ultimate delivers on that promise. Check out what impressed the experts for yourself by visiting Michael Hohl GMC.
