Continually Upgrade Your GMC Model With More Than 200 New Apps on Google Play

More and more modern GMC trucks and SUVs sport an infotainment system that incorporates Google Built-In technologies, and that backbone means they may soon have additional capabilities. Michael Hohl GMC is proud to announce a significant expansion, with more than 200 new apps available on Google Play for download into vehicles with the Google Built-in system and OnStar Connectivity.
While many may focus on Google Built-In’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, its integrated Google Maps navigation system, or perhaps the flexibility of the Google Assistante voice command system, another advantage is the ability to download car-compatible apps from the Google Play app store.
Google Play’s car-compatible apps can be divided into three categories:
- Apps that can be used by the driver while the vehicle is in motion
- Apps for the driver when car is parked
- Apps for front and rear passengers at any time on vehicles so equipped
While driving, the driver can access additional nav-based apps such as Waze, apps to reserve parking spaces, EV charging apps such as PlugShare, and others. There are also audio media apps like Tidal, YouTube Music, Audible, and various podcast apps for diverse listening, plus messaging apps that let you safely communicate with the outside world while driving.
Apps that require ongoing attention and are available when you are parked and sitting in your car for a period of time. You can take on a crossword puzzle, play solitaire, play chess, operate a virtual piano keyboard, and play other screen games.
For vehicles like the Yukon and Yukon XL with rear entertainment systems, and for the growing number of models with a dedicated front passenger screen, fully immersive entertainment apps include AMC+, Disney+, Hulu, Tubi, TuneIn, ViX, YouTube, and YouTube Kids. Each person can enjoy something different on each screen, so make sure everyone has their own set of headphones. More music apps are on the way, including Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, and Spotify, some of which may be available by the time you read this.

Log in to your existing streaming or gaming account with an eligible OnStar plan to get started. As your vehicle continues to evolve with software, additional features and capabilities will be added.
We have been accustomed to the idea that the amenities that come with a vehicle when new will remain unchanged for the life of the vehicle, but with the vast array of Google Play apps, you can add something new to your GMC model whenever you wish. We invite you to visit Michael Hohl GMC for a demonstration of what the Google Built-in system can do for you.
